Lessons

Peter has been teaching since 2006 and has worked with students both independently and through school music programs. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from the University of Rhode Island, he brings to lessons a background that spans classical, jazz, rock, and diverse world musics. More importantly, he is able to connect with students about what makes them passionate and encourages them to explore and realize their own potential. Lessons are based around a comprehensive approach to music – students have the opportunity to experience the art of sound from bebop to swing, baroque to rock and roll.

Past and current students include young musicians in elementary through high school, collegiate musicians, and working music professionals. They have scored highly at RCM exams and have been accepted to a variety of ensembles including the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra, Boston’s Metropolitan Wind Symphony, RI Junior and Senior All-State Bands, and the Southern New England Honors Band. They’ve also been accepted to programs at schools like Brown University, Boston Conservatory, Etobicoke School for the Arts, Rosedale Heights School for the Arts,  Karen Kain School for the Arts, New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School, and Choate Rosemary Hall (arts concentration). He has also mentored many students who just want to learn to play and experience the joy of music.

He is currently teaching in Toronto both independently and at the Classical Music ConservatoryLong and McQuade, and the Regent Park School of Music.

Lessons are available for all ages from beginner to advanced levels. No prior experience necessary.
